You will picked up from your hotel at 6:30 a.m. You will go overland
across the border through the colonial town of Juli, and the village of
Yunguyo. July and Pomata were very important cultural centers in the
17th century and their magnificent churches give testimony to that
antiquated splendor. You will arrive into Copacabana after about 3 hours.
Copacana is the most important religious sanctuary of Bolivia. Thousands
of pilgrims visit the Virgin of Copacabana every year. She is also known
as the Native Madonna. You will visit the main square and the impressive
Cathedral (1/2 hour tour). You will arrive into the Sun Island after
about an hour long spectacular catamaran cruise which includes lunch.
This island has been identified as the birthplace of several revered
entities, including the sun itself. A source of magnetic energy , the
vertex of the earth, the cradle of the Inca Empire , the Inca couple
Manco Kapac and Mama Ocllo appeared here and founded the Sun Empire.
During a 2 hour Sun Island Tour, you will visit :
-The Inca garden: The islandsī micro climate provides the ideal location
for this garden that during Inca times was full of Andean flowers, water
and trees.
-The Inca Steps: These steps were built by the Incas in order to reach
the Inca Water spring.
-The Inca water spring: A natural water spring with 3 different openings
of different tastes. This water fountain was constructed by the Incas
and is supposed to be a source of eternal youth.
-The Sun Island Ethno Eco Complex: This complex contains the largest
amount of archaeological items found in the island and the largest demo
variety of Andean flora and fauna available in Bolivia.
-The Sun Island Kallawaya Ancient Ceremony: This ceremony features witch
craft, natural medicine, art, magic, and millenary traditions. All of
this traditions are a part of the mystic world of the Kallawayas
heritage. The purpose of this mystic ceremony is to purify the souls of
the Chinkana holy temple visitors. This Ceremony take place in an Inca
altar at the top of the hill facing the temple and overlooking the lake.
You will then proceed back to Copacabana and then to La Paz. At the
Tiquina strait, cars, buses and trucks are loaded on wooden barrages and
ferried across the strait. Two picturesque villages -San Pedro and San
Pablo - are divided by the lake. We will arrive in La Paz at 7:30 PM and
that will be the end of the service. |

by decree the right of US citizens to enter Bolivia
country freely, in reciprocity of a similar measure
taken by the US government.
Also the citizens of Angola, Bhutan, Republic of Chad,
Congo, Ruanda, Somalia, Republic of Yemen, Indonesia,
China and Taiwan have been affected by this decree.
