INTI
RAYMI
Cusco
celebrates
the Inti
Raymi
with
occasion
of the
winter
solstice
-the
solar
new year
- for a
town
which
main
cult
object
was the
god Inti
(the
sun). In
time of
the
Incas
was a
religious
ceremony,
now it
is a
theater
representation.
However
this
expression
generates
a
feeling
of
identity
in the
town
that
evokes
values
and
memories
that are
still
excellent
in our
days, it
also
brings
to the
memory a
time
that
lives in
the
heart
of the
town of
Cusco (Qosqo).
The
version
is
expressed
in the
original,
Quechua
language.
The
celebration
starts
on the
Temple
of the
Sun (Koricancha)
then
continues
to the
Sacsayhuaman,
we will
provide
you the
transportation
and
entrance.

ANDAHUAYLILLAS
This
church
is
considered
the
"Sistine
Chapel
of the
Americas"
. Inside
the
church
we can
find a
variety
of
paintings
and
murals
dating
from the
XVIth
and
XVIIth
centuries.
The
church
is
considered
as
outstanding
colonial
art.
RAQCHI
Temple
dedicated
to
Wiracocha
,
supreme
god of
the
Incas
Empire .
The
Temple
is built
out of
sundried
mud-brick
walls
and
stones.
The site
shows
remains
of
terraces,
bridges,
warehouses
and
cottages.
LA RAYA
Is the
highest
pass on
the
route;
this
point is
the
conjunction
of the
Cordilleras
and
gives
origin
to the
Vilcanota
Knot.
The
landscape
is
beautiful:
snow
peaks,
herds of
alpacas,
vicuñas,
etc.
PUKARA
Archeological
complex
formed
by a
pyramidal
structure.
Here we
can
observe
the
first
sign of
civilized
culture
in the
Peruvian
Altiplano
. The
ruins
date
from
4000b.c.
Puno is
located
approximately
390 km.
far away
from
Cuzco.
In the
passage
of Cuzco
towards
Puno, we
will
appreciate
huge
landscapes
within
which we
will
find
important
touristic
places.
This
excursion
will
allow
you to
know
Puno by
being
started
off
Cuzco
and at
the same
time to
visit
the
nearest
places
of
interest
in this
route.
PIKILLACTA
AND
ANDAHUAYLILLAS
Cusco,
the
"center
of the
world",
seems to
be an
eternal
source
of
attractive
destinations.
Some of
them are
well-known:
Machu
Picchu,
Sacsayhuaman,
the
Sacred
Valley
of the
Incas,
and
others,
not so
much,
such as
the
circuit
of Tipon,
Pikillacta
and
Andahuaylillas.
A
strange
group of
prehispanic
and
Spanish
remains.
This is
proving
the
cultural
duality
of the
ancient
capital
of the
Inca
Empire.
NOTE:
the
train to
Puno is
subject
to
availability
of
spaces,
but for
sure we
can
offer
you the
travel
by bus.
